Is Physiotherapy right for you?

Physiotherapy can help reduce pain, restore movement and strength, and support your recovery from injury.

Your appointment begins with a comprehensive physiotherapy assessment to understand your symptoms, movement, strength and the possible causes of your problem. From this, you’ll receive a personalised treatment and rehabilitation plan based on your individual needs and goals.

Treatment may include hands-on therapy, tailored exercise prescription, strength and mobility rehabilitation, education and advice to help manage your symptoms and return to the activities that matter to you.

The aim is not only to address your current symptoms, but also to improve movement, build strength, and reduce the risk of the problem returning.

Physiotherapy is generally more appropriate for specific injuries, persistent or recurring pain, weakness, reduced movement, or symptoms that require further assessment and rehabilitation.

Sports massage is better suited to muscular tension, stiffness, general soreness and recovery following exercise or physical activity.

Other reasons for physiotherapy:

  • Muscle strains and ligament sprains

  • Tendon problems and tendinopathy

  • Joint pain and stiffness

  • Running-related injuries

  • Work or gym-related injuries

  • Ongoing or recurring musculoskeletal pain

  • Reduced mobility, strength or confidence following injury
